Two of us sat this morning- one in the hardwoods and the other in a hub and spoke foot plot. Not a single deer between us. I was very surprised.

I shot one that was running across the field this morning at 9:57. I was getting out the stand at 10:00. I called my brother and his boy to come help me load him and when they got there we got him loaded up and they were chasing on the other end of the field. Left there and skinned this one out and went to get more ice about 1pm and had a big 4 or 6 point run across the road on me with his tongue hanging out. Big body and big antlers just no points.

Had a buck chasing a doe through a shooting lane at the farm this evening, first chasing I’ve seen this year. Last light, not sure how big he was

Got in the stand early yesterday afternoon- about 3- at 4 a big doe crossed the shooting lane with her tail sideways in a fast walk- about 200 yards out. I got on the rifle waiting to shoot, and waited, and waited finally leaned back and checked the time 4:25.
I sat watching- giant buck crossed in the same spot, I couldn't get a shot off- it was 4:53.
Saw 2 more does just at the end of shooting light- only heard 1 rifle shot all that time. When I signed out- I had been the only person on the club for the afternoon hunt.

I sat tonight and saw at least 12 does on a big food plot. Had a small 6 come out and run them all around. No pics of anything big in the last few days.

8 pt I shot tonight was rank, but run down and skinny. Makes me think he’s been rutting for a while.

He came out yesterday one hour before dark. I watched the ducks come to roost as I paddled him in.
