    Default Residential Contractor help needed

I am in the process of trying to get a metal building built. I also want electricity to the building. Can anyone here walk me through this permit process? Dorchester county.

    Thanks

I'm far from being the one to tell you how to pull permits but wouldn't they pull the electrical permit when they pull the building permit? If you are going to do the electrical yourself, just log on to dorchester and pull it online. I did this for a gas line I ran. I had to follow the process or SCEG wouldn't put the meter in.

I submitted the building permit but was really confused when it started asking for price etc.

They charge you for the permit based on price of the project.

Price dictates the cost of the permit. You need to get a quote for the work before you get too wound up about a permit.

EDIT - Sorry, Charlie Horse. I didn't see your post.

    Sorry.

My confusion was on the electrical side. I want to do all the electrical stuff myself.

He trenched, set a power pole, breaker boxes and wired up my connex boxes.

I had to fight with Dorchester County to get 200 amp service to the boxes. They wanted to limit me to 75 amps. They made me put mobile home anchors on all four corners of each box. At first, they were going to make me put a roof over both of them. Pain in the ass experience. The inspectors love their little bit of power and will find something to make you grovel over.
