    Default DIRT

    plain old, cheap ass DIRT

I cant seem to get anyone to answer this question. Its quite possible this is such a small, pain in the ass job that no one wants it.

I need some dirt to fill in a pond edge. I cant necessarily think of a "good" place to harvest said dirt from my property. My brain (such as it is) thinks that people dig holes to build highways and such all the time and I would gladly hire someone to haul it off for them....and put it next to my pond.

i cant even tell you how many "truck loads" it will take because trucks come in different shapes and sizes, too. I know if I used my dump trailer it would take a bunch of them...like 10-15 at least, to get the result I envision.

How do I get someone to bring me some dirt and then flatten it out some?
I also plan to have some logging done in the near future (but we know how reliable timber people can be - joke) and will have some roads pushed up. certainly possible to at least combine use of the dozer but still need the dirt.

i gladly welcome all smart ass opinions....

Call a landscape company and find out where they get their dirt. Rent a dump truck and some mexis and you are done.

You don't need to make this so difficult.

    Call Feets.

Build a bulkhead before you add dirt to your pond to prevent your new dirt from filling in your pond.

glad I could help complicate your job. you're welcome.

A triax truck hold about 15 cubic yards. You aren't supposed to haul dirt off of a property without a mining permit.

Road construction and site work folks know where to get fill dirt or topsoil. Landscapers probably do too.

You need a very dry and good path to where you plan to have them dump it. They aren't going to take a risk of bogging down.

this has been discussed but agree on your assessment of creating more work. my brain says all other edges of my pond are just good old fashioned edges without bulkheads everywhere.

also been discussed. as it is, the logging is done on the "other side" of the creek and would have to ferry dirt around the ass to get to the elbow. granted, it may be cheaper than hauling from farther away....

agreed on all of this. i have a path in my head as to where they would offload. granted, we both know how that will end up when they screw up my yard.
