I sat overlooking a 3yr cutover yesterday morning and lost count of the number of deer I saw, 25-30ish. Brother texted me at 7:15 that he just saw a big 10 slip up beside him to check a scrape and slipped out before he could get a shot off. Later on hearing something grunt in the pines behind me gets my heart rate up. Ends up being a group of 4 button bucks that moved in and fed on acorns under my lean-to stand. Fast forward to 9:45 and catch a glimpse of this big boy walking towards me in the thick of the cutover. He stepped into a clear spot at about 120ish yds and the .243 put him on the ground. I got pictures of him back in September and super pumped to be given this opportunity.
