Add some shims to the ring gears smooth side moves it closer to the pinion gear. This meshes the ring gear tighter to the pinion and removes the back lash. That in turn removes that clunk.

I wish they would do something about the stall / torque converter. I got Donahue lay flat trailer, I loaded a 100 bushel gravity wagon with about 110 bushels of corn on trailer. 4wd low, TCS off. It would not push the trailer under the tires. It spun the tires but not like it should. It acted like something was controlling the RPMs.
