    Default Hog Inlet

Looking to go to North Myrtle Beach , Cherry Grove area the end of this week and I'm wondering if it's worth taking the boat to fish House Creek/ Hog Inlet. Any body have experience fishing there or advice?

Take it...flounder, trout and redfish are the targets. Drag minnows and pitch gulp or live shrimp around rocks.

There will be more yankees in there than fish. Put in under the bridge and run down to the jetties

6 inch new penny gulp shrimp, or big mud minnows are best. Carolina rigged.

The answer is yes.... Take it. Bait is moving everywhere up there right now. bull reds are hot right now at the jettys, flounder bite has been good in the creeks as well as the nearshore reefs, been seeing some black drum caught around the jettys as well. as young buck said Carolina rig, I been using finger mullet caught in the cast net and also done very well with the flounder on Vodu shrimp.

Y'all have decent success fishing artificials on Carolina rigs? Makes sense in theory, but for whatever reason, I've never tried it.

Never tried it either. Bait is abundant right now so that would be where I would start. I fish plastics a good bit but always actively retrieving.

Carolina Rig for live bait. Just a single 3/4oz jig head for gulp shrimp.
