    Default Mallard Tower Shoot

Word on the street says that an SC shooting preserve will be hosting a Mallard Tower shoot this year. 300 mallards will be thrown. 16 pegs available, 2 people per peg. *No limits*

Moree's mallards are more related to chickens then actual ducks.

No different than throwing pheasants out of a tower which people seem to enjoy so much.

Mallards are migratory - pheasants are not....big different.

Yeah, I know that tower mallards ain't goin' 100 yards much less 100 miles but I still think it should be illegal to purposefully release any bird that is considered a migratory bird.

I guess I'm still trying to figure out how there isn't a possession limit on a federal bird?

A blind/designated spot to stand. I think that term comes from the European driven shoot terminology.

I've never quite understood that activity.

no matter how well I shot, I'd feel like I medaled in the Special Olympics. One could argue (weakly) there is some skill involved but there is absolutely nothing sporting about it. Same with MRP while we are on the subject.

Tower shoot is not hunting, it's like live sporting clays.

I'd rather watch a dog point them and then shoot. Still not wild birds but at least I get to watch my dog do something other than retrieve.

I did a tower shoot once in Andrews- killed 17 cock pheasants and my bud killed 1. Much rather watch dogs point and shoot kicked up quail.

I talked to a guy at work about hunting. Then he told me he was mounting a pheasant he shot at a tower shoot. Now we just stick to work topics.
