I just got on the line with CE because I couldn't find the Pile Drivers I'm shooting now. They have discontinued the original line and now offer them in a DS (double spine). I have a doz 350's headed my way.

Shooting 135gr heads now but have some 160's on the way that we gonna try.

Buy some weight tubes. I tried them years ago and they worked fine.

Without looking at the charts, FMJ’s are probably over 10 in a 340 spine but not sure. Look at the Gold Tip FOC calculator and it can tell you every you need to know.

But like I’ve been trying to tell y’all, too much of anything is still too much. A 500 grain arrow with 12-15% FOC will kill anything in North America. Period. Dot. End of story.

I'm custom splicing 10" of a 350 arrow onto 10" of a 250 to 8" of a 150 with a 100 grain brass insert and two lock blade Bo Duke buck knives hafted onto the tip. I choked an ostrich last week and stole some primaries for fletching and feel that should be a pretty good combo.

And moving to the 160 will put me at 510gr total on a 28 3/4" arrow.

I just want to know WTH y'all are shooting? My arrows are usually around 420gr. (finished) and I have never had a problem with penetration. Maybe y'all need to start using more spit.

Without knowing all the specifics, that sounds deadly. I've just got too much OCD to shoot 160 grain heads. If i was trying to add front end weight, I'd do it with the inserts or collars and stick with a 100 or 125 grain point for consistency if nothing else. Where you get 160 grain field points to practice with?

Mine top out just shy of 490. Easton axis 340 27” with 75gr brass inserts 100 grain point regular nock and 4 low profile 3” vanes.
