CHARLESTON, S.C. —
If you've dreamed of being a part of a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, now is your chance — but you have to fit the bill to get cast.
Producers of an upcoming holiday film created and written by Dateline NBC correspondent Andrea Canning will be filming in Charleston starting Monday, Sept. 28.
“USS Christmas” is a Christmas love story following the lives of Navy fighter pilot Billy Jenkins and news reporter Maddie Contino, who have both put their careers before their lackluster love lives. Will the two lead characters be able to put their careers on hold to find a special bond of love and happiness that can only be found during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season?
Casting company TW Cast and Recruit is currently looking for men and women of all ethnicities who are 20 years of ago or older to serve as extras in the film.
Here's the catch: Anyone applying for the role must have past or present Navy experience and should be able to provide their own formal Navy Blues uniform and an everyday uniform.
Along with being current or former Navy personnel, applicants will have to be available for shooting for several days through Thursday, Sept. 1.
Those chosen will receive a $50 bonus for bringing their own uniforms.
To be considered, those applying should have a regulation military haircut, any tattoos that cannot be covered by clothing must be covered by makeup prior to arriving to set, and all applicants must be willing to get tested for COVID-19 before filming begins.
Those selected will receive $64 for working an 8-hour day, with time and a half guaranteed for every hour after that, plus a $50 wardrobe bump and a $20 COVID testing bonus.
Application can be submitted by creating an account with Castifi.com and using this link here.
