    Default BroadHelp Help

Long shot but here she goes

I need to put my hands on a practice broadhead for rage hypodermic +p 125gr.
Anybody have one they’d sell me or even just let me borrow for a day or so?

I’ve checked Cabelas, HHQ, Saluda river archery and dwights archery and nowhere has any

    Thanks

Start by throwing the Rages in the trash.
But if a rage isn’t flying like a field tip than your bow is seriously out of tune.

Toxic broadheads. I know they look funny, but 2 dead bulls and a muley buck last season have me convinced. Neither went more than 30 yds.

I don't have any lady's broadheads or I'd help you out.

Checked with my wife and she doesn't either. Sorry man.

    Y’all never disappoint.

The field points shoot similar to the broadhead but not as closed as I’d like. I’ve got an ample supply of rages so I’ll stick to them for the time being. The bow was checked out by Hunters Headquarters last summer and everything was fine, I shot it some practicing, killed a deer the first weekend of archery season with it and then put it back up. Even after being checked out by the shop Last year the field points and broadheads still varied so I’m not inclined to think it’s a major tuning issue but I could be wrong. The bow hasn’t been out of the case since last season. I pulled it out about a month ago and shot a day or so at some closer ranges and everything seemed fine. Went to shoot it this week with the practice broadhead and my 10 20 and 30 yd pins are dead on but my 40yd was 6-8” low. I was talking on the phone when I made the adjustment, not paying attention and moved the pin in the wrong direction. Went to make the next shot and lost the arrow with the practice tip. Oh well, my fault for not paying attention to what I was doing.

With the upstate opener 5 days away I’m not going to worry about it unless I can get my hands on the broadhead I need. My other pins are good to go and I’ve only got one bow stand setup where I would even have a clear 40yd shot so it’s no big deal.

You need to Broadhead or bareshaft tune it. If a mechanical isn’t shooting like a field point your bow is so out of tune there’s no telling how much energy your losing when it hits a deer. Most shops won’t tune a bow worth a shit. You need to rip the fletchings off a couple arrows and get it shooting the bareshafts the same as your fletched shafts.

The shop I took it to did that last year, I watched them shoot paper with a blank shaft and it looked like a bullet hole in the paper. I guess something could have changed since then but it’s not been out of the case but a few times, no major bumps and hasn’t been dropped.

Regardless, I’m not doing anything different for at least the next three weeks. I’ll drop it off come
muzzleloader season and let Hunters Headquarters fool with it

With ample supply, waste one for practice. I keep all spent broadheads for practice. Was long time Muzzy 125 3blade shooter until I was in Walmart well after season. There was like 10 packs of Thunderheads 125 for like 5.00 a pack. I like Muzzys better cause blades won't fall out while assembling.

I’ll probably end up doing that, I’ll just have to pick up an extra pack of the lock collars

    I was being serious,

What complaints do you have against them?

I knew nothing about bows at all when I bought my first one from them 7-8yrs ago. Bought my 2nd bow from them as well.
Greg’s not much on personality but they’ve always been helpful enough anytime I’ve gone in there looking to spend money, had questions, and the time or two my bow did have issues or need tuning they always fixed it pretty quickly
