Default Turkey breast on smoker for Labor day, Texas Style

Love the Texas style of BBQ, course pepper and kosher salt

Trying a turkey breast today for Labor Day and Wife’s Birthday, our kids coming over for lunch

Hope it turns out as good as the one I had a while back

Going to wrap it in foil with couple sticks of butter in about 30 minutes and back on smoker until proper temp

Yep Took it off at 165 and let it rest for about an hour. Used the foil pan to catch all the drippings from when it was wrapped. Made for good juice after it was cut

Pretty dang good but I love turkey anyway

I did some this week. Brined and then a good amount of cracked pepper.

I agree, wife got me his book BBQ Manifesto. Pretty good book

Did a brisket flat few weeks back and turned out great, just never thought of a turkey this way but we one similar a few weeks back from some BBQ place on Sullivans Island . Wife and Daughter loved it, said this one was a duplicate of that . It was devoured

Did not brine it, really didn’t have time. I injected it instead .

This was a spur of the moment thing, saw fresh turkey breast in Publix and decided to try that

Normally I would brine but to be honest if I use a good dose of creole butter that seems to be just as good
