    You’re not wrong.

On a related note, does anybody have any recommendations for a “field guide” to aquatic vegetation?

Here are a couple good ones, LSU's 'Schematic Diagram for Seedling Weed Identification in Rice' and the NRCS's 'Wetland Management for Waterfowl Handbook'

Thanks dubs, exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

It appears what I posted may be barnyard grass? Which appears to be a type of millet. I see in some pictures the seeds seem to have a long hair on them, is that a species characteristic or a maturity characteristic?

Not trying to do any convincing, just trying to learn more about the vegetation. I can assure you it’s not keeping me awake at night, although I appreciate your concern.

ok. thanks. I was really worried about you.

Lots of people come on here and ask what is growing until someone tells them its "great duck food" and they get all happy.

I'm glad you know the genus species of the millet. its still a millet. AKA grass.

ducks that came last year will come back. you can thank the millet. or not.

Some of us have had this discussion in the past.
There is conflicting info on the www but there is a difference in the two plants.

I already knew ducks ate it, I did well in that pothole last year after I found them one morning after hunting a different spot. They were swimming in and out of the stuff. Just wanting to know what I’m looking at.
