I'd be happy to crack the 10 lb mark..
At least I'm housebroken.
When I lived in Virginia and was practicing up there I used to bass and crappie fish the James River in a little 14' carolina skiff. I was off one Wednesday and was flippin' grass with a pig n jig and tossing fish in the livewell. A couple of glitter boat gangsters pre-fishing for an upcoming tournament took it upon themselves to try and shame me for keeping "their tournament fish". I quickly pointed them to the regs, informed them I was legal and I didn't make a habit of paying for groceries then chucking them back into the store from the parking lot. I then told 'em life is way more fun when you don't take yourself and your "sport" so serious.
I bet it's been 10+yrs since I even pitched a plastic into fresh water. Too boring and slow and those things just don't taste that good.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Been quite a few over 20# LMB caught in California lakes - in recent years.
One over 24# that was never certified so doesn't count. There was also a fish that Mac Weakly caught in Dixon Lake, California that weighed 25 # plus . Released and died after spawning, that fish weighed 19.1 ..

Just Damn.
Those spot fillets...
I think 22 lbs is tops for a pregnant bass in early March in perfect conditions.
I have doubts about George Perry's fish.

California's record potential days have passed, too. They have either stopped or greatly reduced trout stocking programs in some of the big name lakes from what I've read online.
I know where there's a 19lb in a farm pond, 10k to #dryhimout.
