    Default Electrician in Chapin/Prosperity

I’m thinking I need an electrician in the prosperity area. I’ve used ESI in Irmo and didn’t have a good experience, but here’s my situation. I’ve got 3 recessed lights that are not working in my kitchen. It appears they are on their own switch but their is no power to the switch. I have checked the breaker box and all breakers are on so I eliminated that part. When I put the tester on the switch nothing happens. Doesn’t light up or anything. When I flip the switch nothing happens with the lights. I’m pretty sure they worked before I moved and they weren’t noted as not working in the inspection. Went from old can lights to new flush mounted lighting, all other lights That we switched(about 25) are all working fine.

If you have an GFCI in the kitchen, check it. Probably not on the same circuit but you never know, unless you do the work yourself.

Checked all the outlets and they’re all good. They all have power going to them

The way you say “tester” sounds like you mean a non-contact voltage tester.
Have you checked it on something you know is hot to make sure it’s working?

This voltage tester is what I’m using. There’s two switches on the other side of the wall and others in the house that work and show a reading

You need to take a meter and read voltages coming out of the breaker panel at that breaker and then read voltages at the switch’s them selves.
