Maybe he shouldn't have been ambiguous about a situation that carries no ambiguity.

my son was in the room. He said the players said a lot of things but Dabo was just the moderator. He knew he would have to talk to the press later. His quote from the OP really isnt adding credence to either side of the coin....

It does matter to me if he was calling the dead guy disgusting or cops. His opinion means as much as Lebron's. I wanted football and politics separated.

I’m pretty much done with sports but the first person that starts talking politics on the dove field will be escorted off the property.

I really hate it but as an outdoorsman this is freeing up many weekends and nights to be a better family man and spend time enjoying what our creator has blessed us with. I almost feel sorry for collegiate coaches. They are so beholden to recruiting that they are really not allowed to have their own opinions if there's any chance the cancel culture or other coaches can use it. That's sad and not what sports are supposed to be about but it is what's been made in the current climate.

Unfortunately, that day is dead. Because the left-wing reporter will always put the coach or player on the spot. Anyone who dissents [Drew Brees, Mike Leach] is quickly worn down to a nub by outraged nation.

I think the way Denzel Washington handled Katie Couric years ago during an interview was perfect. He deflected her loaded question by asking why journalists want to lump folks into one group or another.

I watched ESPN yesterday for all of 5 minutes. The radical left has that station hook line and sinker.

Think about that for a moment. The dove field may be the only place people who need to talk about what is going on ever get the chance...

They are owned by Disney Corp. Of course they are. Is the ESPN/Kirk Herbstreit association with Dabo, which seemed such a masterful play 24 months ago, pushing that program to the left and off the cliff? Unintended consequences popping up like chantarelles...

Nothing wrong with lanes statement imo. As long as he leaves out that Marxist organization that list eradication of the nuclear family in their mission statement I’m good

Have to agree with you on this. Hell ESPN has become more political than CNN, HN or FOX News.

Maybe when the season starts they will talk football. I understand listening to your players at time like this I do not see it being in the media. It is recruiting and shallow.

When a college football coach and 18-22 year olds are your idol... i believe you [we] are destined to become disappointed. Life isn't a spectator sport. Find your own adventure.
"The best things in life make you sweaty"
    - Edgar Allen Poe

“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us...”
    ― Henry David Thoreau

“We had a long conversation as a team about all of that and there’s really no words to describe it other than just incredibly disgusting and disappointing to see something like that take place,” Swinney said.

Don't kid yourselves, Dabo was referring to the cops shooting the felon. And make no mistake about it, that thug has prior felony convictions, had felony warrants outstanding and was committing felonious acts when he got shot.
Anybody that wants to use the shooting of this thug for a reason to riot, loot and destroy is an enemy to all law abiding citizens and should suffer the same fate if necessary to restore law and order. The nationwide rioting and destruction has gone on long enough under false pretenses and needs to be stopped at all cost before it becomes the new normal.
