Pamlico Sound and Google Maps...Whats up with That?

So for reasons unbeknownst to me, the Pamilco Sound is purposefully obscured by Google Maps. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may be? There is no naval base, etc in that area. Just very strange. Thoughts? MG

Because they aint wastin the innerwebs on empty water. Go look at the Great lakes, its the same way

Type those coordinates into google maps and tell me if you think the sound is "obscured". That is satellite image of a boat in the sound. Nothing is obscured.... its just muddy water!

Don’t need a google map. Headed out of it now for home. Hope to not see it again.
