    Default Replacement Door Window

Neighbor’s yard guys cracked the front passenger window on my wife’s Yukon. Never had to replace a door window, do the normal windshield companies do the door glass too?

    Recommendations Irmo/Columbia/Lexington?

I would go to any decent body shop. Or check with KRT first. Very simple but any good body shop tech would have been into dozens if not hundreds of that same door, depending on year model. They all have nuances. Windshield guys cut and glue 99% of the time.

A client of mine needed his right front window replaced in his 2006 Suburban. I bought one from the closest salvage yard and installed it. Piece of cake. KRT or your usual full service shop can do it for you. HiGear

Call insurance. Let them figure it out.

Binswanger, Quacket Glass, or Absolute Glass can handle it.

Go thru insurance. It is a no charge replacement.

For a side window? I knew windshields were no charge replacements, didn’t think door windows were. Will call my agent.

I already talked to the owner of the landscape company and they are willing to pay for it.

Yes, if it is broken as no fault of your own.

The owner of my company just had the exact same thing happen last week and that’s what his insurance told him. He did not come out of pocket for the replacement.

His was on a new Surburban. It was the rear window over the tire behind rear passenger door. The long odd shaped window with radio antenna wired into it.

While the Replacement of the Glass will not cost you anything it is "Counted" as a Claim. Which could/would affect your Insurance Premiums. If the Landscape Company is paying for it, choose either to call a Glass Company or Body Shop as others have mentioned and let him write the check.

If you are near Lexington KRT is your man!!

It’s been handled. Window will be replaced tomorrow pending no rain.

    Thanks for the insight!
