i try no less than 250 yrds, if i dont have enough spot picked out, usually always first to my holes though.i usually shine them and works in most cases, but last year had a guy and two boys come into a cove we had camped out on all of opening week, we where hunting with our kids, had the whole area covered with dekes, no way he could have missed them and my q-beam, he keep on in, cussed me for shining him, he set up 20 ft from one our blinds, my son asked me why since there was only adult why i didnt open a can of whip ass, told because then we would be like him, course guy could not shot anything he was cut off in directions.

Generally, I have had okay results with folks on Murray, but sometimes stupid just works it's way to the surface. I tend to get to my holes before others, too ... If I don't, well, they worked harder for it, and it's a big lake. I can find another hole.

I have settled into my upper lake spot and had folks come in. A quick shine with the light, and you can hear 'em cussin' from three hundred yards. But they typically move on.

On the bigger islands, I've seen two or three groups set up. That is a bit too crowded for me, unless it's a BIG island.

Usually, the bass fishermen are less considerate than the other duck hunters.

You got that right swampy. Had many a fisherman just look at me like I was crazy and come right up in the dekes

I dont mind 150-200yrds. but what really pisses me off is a damn game warden pulling in the landing zone of my spread and onto the bank to check for my stamps and plug
