I am just glad that we have figured out that deer either love it and eat the shit out of it or they hate it and won't even come near a field of it.
I only hunt on days that end in "y"!

I'll make it simple for you:

Ducks like corn. You can try soybeans, chuffa, every millet known to man, or even try to get smartweed to take hold. I give not a shit.
Deer like soybeans. You can dump out tractor loads of corn, too. I still dont care. Vetch is a neat one. Fall plots are up to the individual.
Doves like sunflowers. I dont need any of that other shit. You can sure kill doves over buckwheat or burned milo in the third season on occasion. But I'll stick to sunflowers.

    Have a nice day.

Good summary. And ducks do love corn. But they love to roost in corn, too....
Deer (aka dear) do love that veatch....My food plots aren't big enough to plant soybeans...and I can't shoot my bow that far.

oh....and the last flood we had earlier this year wiped out about 12 acres of durana planted along the roads...It usually survives the floods, but I guess it came at wrong time and wiped it out. No need for us to plant anything this year. Santee COoper has the lake in peoples yards (76') and we are looking to get some hurricane rain above us. Wish the Legislature could appoint a homeless person to mash the buttons and make the decisions for santee cooper. It would have to be an improvement over what they have now.

People who plant buckwheat for doves don't have the proper equipment or time to plant the best.....which is sunflowers.

So- how do I get the deer to eat my sicklepod? Spray is with corn oil, soybean oil, or buckwheat extract? And should I burn it for dove hunting or just bushog it and drag clean rows?

DOn't spray it with buckwheat extract...they won't come within two hunnid yards of it. You would be better off covering it with yellar onions and burnt motor earl
