Default Best poly for table top

I've got my breakfast nook table top stained now I need to put some poly. Being that it is a table top I'd like it to be pretty slick and wipable/durable. I don't think the minwax stuff is gonna give me the results I want. The helmsman poly looks to be thicker but I still ain't sure. What y'all think

I put 4 coats of helmsman on my BGE table and it’s done the trick. I agree, it’s a thicker material. Charlie horse is your best bet for a recommendation.

You roll, wipe or brush it on? I'm trying to find something I can get at a store, nothing special

I just did my shop table in minwax poly and it’s not as hard as I would like

I’m happy with 3 coats of Helmsman on a table made out of old siding, brushed on. It’s slick and filled in all the little places crumbs would have hid in.
