    Default Sako stock gone sticky.

Three year old 85 S Finnlight. Took it out of the cabinet and the stock is sticky, almost gummy. Seems like a common issue with these. Beretta won’t do anything about it. Makes me mad considering what the gun cost.

Going to try to clean it with I don’t know what. Suggestions?

I have a Browning that’s like that. Apparently they will fix/replace stocks if you send it back.

Beretta said no. Two year warranty but I’m trying again.

If you decide to completely scrap the stock and want to swap it out, the stockys stocks are damn good for the money. They have taken over B&C in the budget friendly aftermarket stock world IMO. The stockys I have handled have been quite impressive considering the cost.

    Just another option..

Sorry to hear about the problem. But it's the reason I refuse to own a firearm with that kind of stock/stock inset. They all do it sooner or later.

Let us know, if you will, if you find a solution other than a total stock replacement.

My Finnlights are still good but this is a known issue with all of these soft touch or whatever they call them stocks. When mine get that way, they’re going into McMillan Game Scouts.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

The internet says acetone (which doesn’t seen like a good idea) or rubbing alcohol.

Is this the polymer stock with the rubber grips?

Had someone try acetone on my duratouch stock that went sticky. Took the sticky off without taking off the camo. He followed that with a clear coat to protect it.

The good news is if it’s already jacked up you can really try anything. I hate those coating for this very reason.

Hot water and dawn with a scrub brush. Same as silicone phone cases. Those you just throw in top rack of dishwasher.

Dawn dish soap is amazing stuff. Worth a try and after you spread it in let it sit for a few hours or overnight. Good luck!

Bumping this back up in regards to a Browning rifle. The gun is 7 or 8yrs old, I’m the original owner.
I pulled the stock off tonight, acetone wouldn’t touch it as far as removing the gumminess.
I’m going to call Browning tomorrow but I have my doubts that they’ll do anything about it.
Looks like I can get a factory replacement stock for about $125 but does anyone have a better suggestion for removing the duratouch on the original?
