    Default Mission accomplished

My son has been itching to catch a puppy drum since our last beach trip where one broke him off on a crab pot buoy.

Fast forward to this past weekend when we had a boys weekend at our hunt camp to celebrate a birthday.

A gulp shrimp and a popping cork worked like crack. Now he’s ready to go back again.

    Great catch.

I see you are from NC.

I applaud you for not calling them “rat reds.”
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Our boat ended the weekend with 3 slot reds, caught plenty of those "rat reds" and flounder. It was a shame we can't keep the flounder until the 16th. We had 4 really nice ones that hurt to throw back.
The keeper trout eluded us all weekend, but our friends caught 1 that went in the box.

Medically, he is exactly where the Dr's all said he would be. Counts continue to be in the desired range and his energy/stamina is at a point I don't ever remember seeing. In fact, he is playing golf with a Jr. PGA group Mondays & Tuesdays. He has played with this group the last 3 years, but could never put the pieces together well until this season. Now that his motor skills are improving he can actually make good contact with the ball.

He's also very excited to do more shooting. I took Colt and my wife to a steel challenge match 2 weekends ago. I helped run Colt on the stages but they both shot the match. We borrowed a friend's match 10/22 and they both loved the format. As you can imagine, I'm in the process of putting together one for our family now!
