The AC unit is on the blink in my new saddle. I will wait a month or so.

    It’s 95. That’s beach/boat weather, not deer dragging weather.

If we waited until it got cold to hunt, we wouldn't hunt much around here

Maybe get interested in a month or so. Right now I’m just killing too many fish.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I've been doing farm chores in the middle of the day all summer. Sitting in a tree with the sun going down will be refreshing.

I do it just because it's a tradition. It's bucks only and they're still in velvet so it's very unlikely I'd shoot anyway but it helps get me in the mood to see them come out. I may not hunt deer again until does are allowed.

I need to go just to get the jitters out. I'm always super restless and can't sit still. I killed a hog yesterday with the scatter gun and that scratched a little bit of the itch.

    Them aggravated and bothersome feelings?

I don’t have the drive to go like I did. They will still be there in a month or two and I will enjoy it a lot more. Plus Father Time is marching right along and there are a few tags I’d like to punch while I’m able. I’m focused on getting ready to kill an elk with a front stuffer in a few weeks. The local woods goats will still be here when I can’t climb a mountain anymore.
