I’d definitely have a few bolts and parts leftover after reassembly.
How many cam tower leaks have your repaired on the 5.7? Are they as big of an issue as some on the tundra forum make it out to be?
We had the same thing done on a 3 month old 4 runner a few years back.
Is that collision damage, or a frame defect?

Wife has a 18’. Cam tower leak at 25k. Leaving puddles in garage. As old as this 5.7 is, Toyota should have addressed it by now. Stokes Brown Toyota in Bluffton did not act surprised in the least bit. Actually the head tech said he’s gotten the process down pretty good. That tells me he’s done a few.
They put an entire new frame on the car for that? They couldn’t/wouldn’t section it?

A friend has a ten year old Tacoma. Gets a letter in the mail that his vehicle may be part of a recall. He brings it in and the service writer says yep, you are going to get a new frame. They gave him a rental and told him anything he wanted done during the procedure would be at parts cost only except for inside the engine. The bill covered by warranty was over $13,000. MG

Unreal. Toyota can do better than that. I watched a few videos on the process and that's a lot of parts that have to come off just to fix the leak. I am fairly comfortable with doing some work on newer engines but that scared me a bit.
