    Punk out, good one.

The advantage to the external card over a docking station is the 2nd monitor will not bog down your MacBook memory and will provide better resolution.

I would go the tv route in my opinion. I have duel monitors and wish I just had a tv with a wall Mount. HDMI to usb converter and you are good to go.

    Yep an easy $20. Solution.

Or a $60 solution with a little more speed and better graphics.

What is the advantage to using a TV instead of a monitor?

Larger screen size is the main benefit.

Welcome to it. I run three monitors, my laptop and two additional. It really is game changer if it's something you are not used to and a person that has to load data or flip between minimized screens constantly.

I have 2 screens and cast to a wall tv so people don't have to get in my grill for me to show them something

ha. do that with my kids when I'm helping them look for something so they are not standing over my back and pulling on my chair.
