    Default McMaster 2022

I’ve seen McMaster is running again in 2022.
I was under the impression that a S.C. governor could not serve more than two consecutive terms.

I assume the partial term that he was not elected to doesn’t count towards that?

Has any other SC governor served more than two consecutive terms due to the same circumstances?

He is allowed to run one more term since he was appointed his first partial term.

    Term(s) of office
Under Section 4 in Article IV of the South Carolina Constitution, the governor serves a four-year term in office beginning at noon on the first Wednesday following the second Tuesday in January following his election and ending at noon on the first Wednesday following the second Tuesday in January four years later. Section 3 of Article IV states that no person shall be elected governor for more than two successive terms. For clarification, a person can hold an unlimited amount of terms as governor as long as such person does not serve more than two consecutive terms.[7] Since Henry McMaster assumed the office of governor after Nikki Haley resigned, he is eligible to serve the remainder of Haley's term and two consecutive four-year terms of his own.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Maybe he just needs to insult the legislature a lot more and start sending out random angry tweets, then maybe he would get support.

How long did he issues states of emergency for? Is he still doing so, I quit watching his conferences but it seemed like they were on auto-renew for a while

I’m fine with him originally doing so, there were a lot of unknowns. But I think after a certain length of time the governor should no longer be able to do so, call the Legislature in and have them vote on it.

SC isn’t putting a Dem in the governor’s seat.
