    Default Decal removal- fiberglass boat

I know a handful on here have been messing with older botes including myself.

How can I get these stripes off this 20ish old Sea Pro??

    Thanks for the tips!!

Goof-Off or laquer thinner will do the trick. You never know how dirty something is until you use a real cleaner to clean it.
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.

I used some thinners on the glue spunk that was left.. I actually have taken off almost that exact same decal on a SeaPro

Buy two of these. Need a low speed air tool or use a cordless drill.

If youre anywhere near Columbia or Camden, I can loan you the tool.

Used to buy em by the case from supplier. Astro brand, smelled like baking cookies.

They do create heat now, hence the low rpm air tool. It can yellow white gelcoat or paint if youre not careful.

you have a 16yr old? Then why ask these questions??

Tell him to get the stripes off the boat without screwing it up. He will youtube for half a day then spend the next half a day screwing it up....
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

Heat gun and a few razor blades? Some acetone or surface cleaner after.

If it's an older boat the lines will ghost.

I'll try a heat gun... probably the decal remover wheels too.

Im not too worried about ghost lines.....that's got to be better than what's there.

And, I still want it to float.... that's why I didn't commission the 16yo to do it.

keep that heat gun moving and not on same spot for too long. I have a commercial heat gun and have done a ton of these.
