    No.

And my FIL lives in Murrells Inlet. And THAT'S too close.

Wish the family had never sold the Pawley's house.

I guess Swampy doesn't enjoy county fair like environments with a side of the three day itch.

Keaton Beach FL. Go scalloping, miles and miles of flats fishing, inexpensive and off the tourist radar.

I was in that area last summer for a few days for the second time since I left Coastal. It was sensory overload. I did enjoy the Waffle House right outside of Murrells Inlet.

We spent 10 summer vacations in a house on Richmond Ave on Ocean Isle. Had a blast. Three boats on the canal. Fished everyday, spent the afternoons in Tubbs Inlet. Wore the flounder out just about every year. It’s chill, but you can find some low key nightlife, if you want to, without leaving the island. I haven’t been back in 5 years but I doubt much has changed. Hopefully they’ve dredged Lockwood’s Folly Inlet. It was getting very dicey the last few years.

We just got back from Oriental, NC (30 min due north of Atlantic Beach).

We rented an Air B&B on the Neuse River, and it was CHEAP. Fit our family of 3 just fine. Host was awesome and house was great for the price.

You can kayak outta there. And if you want to go south, there's a ferry you can get on to avoid the long drive around. Text me if you want Air B&B info.

Just returned from Crystal River. Four families with 7-14year olds. We stayed at Kings Bay Lodge. Pulled 3 boats down. Neat little 18 room efficiency motel with a covered outdoor area with grills, picnic tables, etc. with dock space. We did all of our cooking, breakfast and supper outdoors in the common area. Lunch was sammiches on the water somewhere. The water is fresh in the bay and the pool was fed by the bay. The water is fricken cold. Kids swam with Manatees right outside of the pool, saw the largest mullet I've ever seen. Saw several tarpon cruising in the grass. Planned on fishing some of the rock piles in the Gulf, but it didn't work out. We went south in the Gulf towards Homosassa to try scalloping. We picked up 200 or so over the two days we went out. Good time and the kids loved it. We snorkeled into the 3 sisters springs, cold and crowded, but was worth it. All in all a good laid back time that was fun for adults and kids. I'd do it again.

Well, due to a lot of constraints, we'll be going to Edisto just after Labor Day for a few days. Need this....
