Yall can trash talk me all you want, but I absolutely hate summer. If it wasn't for fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, summer would be a complete waste of time.

If I was a gazillionaire, I'd spend every summer up in Canada or as close to the border as I could get. I'd let my minions do the planting down here, you folks that are cut out for it. And I'd start travelling south when the birds did.

Every season has it perks. By February I'm sick of cold by late July early August I'm sick of heat. In December it's nice to be in a deer stand and still make it to dinner plans. In summer it's nice to fish before and after work. In the winter I like cold weather cooking, in the summer it's fresh fish and summer veggies. I enjoy spring and fall with both having the same kind of perks.

I can live with winter until ducks and doves go out, the next day could be spring if I had my doing. Basically a month, I can tolerate a month of winter just for sakes of being able to go through my wardrobe.

I like August. It's like a preparatory month. It's relaxing summer without too much going on.

My daughter walked 18 today. I rode behind her in the cart and kept her hydrated. I'm such a good dad...

I know, I need to get down there. I've been so dern busy I haven't been able to stop. I've really only walked out for a few full Saturdays since all of this has started. Two days off in a row is like a little slice of heaven.

In order to beat the heat, again, I spend a good deal of time indoors..at Your Mom's House.
