    Default Teachers

Should teachers be paid if they choose not to return to teach?

Are teachers lives more important than grocery store workers?

And the Greenville county superintendent should be tarred and feathered.

    No.

Funding to the school districts should be lowered and tax caps placed as well.

Anyone hired to do a job is paid for that job done well. If you choose not to do the job and do it well, you should be terminated and not paid one dime. The job is not relevant.

My wife is a Nursing Instructor and deals with this Covid-19 head on and prolly more in depth than and Grade school teacher will ever have to worry about. She don't bitch and complain about having to do Clinicals in the Hospital. After work she comes home and takes extra safety precaution to ensure we the family don't get it. So to answer your question if you don't teach you don't get paid. Simple really its not a hard concept.

    no and no.

I got no problem with them staying at home as long as they don’t expect someone else to work in order for them to survive. Gas Station workers, grocery store workers, camp instructors, etc.....

    Ridiculous.

    No and no.

Also, as school transitions to remote school, hybrid crap, budgets should be cut. You won’t need the staff, the utilities, material, ink, paper, maintenance, janitorial needs etc. You want need the 10 elementary school buildings in Dorchester.

Go ahead...cut cut cut. Putting it back on the parents is fine but put the money back in their pockets.

I will not discuss how many teachers there were on FB complaining about online teaching in the spring.
I will not discuss how many teachers get mad when healthcare professionals were singled out for being courageous in the face of an unknown diseases and they were not being mentioned.
I will not discuss how many teachers posted about missing their students just after their pictures by the pool.
I will not discuss these things because people already believe I am an a$$hole and doing so may give them more proof. MG

That money would not make it back to the parents’ pockets.

    No and No.

I think some of the teachers that are complaining have gotten used to staying at home, drawing a paycheck since March/April, and don't want to go back to work. My opinion though.

Teacher here and it’s a no and no from me.

Hypothetically speaking though, what would a society void of teachers and public education system look like in your opinions?
