Default Who buys these high-end box stands?

I was at a local shop and they had one of those Muddy box blinds for sale. I thought it was nice so went over to check it out. $3,200!!! I may be ignorant, but who on earth would buy that? I get that they probably have a market in the nicer lodges where you pay a couple grand to hunt, but it seems insane for a normal person to spend that on a corn sniping seat.

Landowners buy them. Some of those can last forever and they figure it's worth the investment. It's less than a new UTV, etc. Not such a great idea for leasing or hunt clubs but if you owned the land? Oh yeah.

    This.

A good blind with silent sliding windows during December in Minnesota is worth its weight in gold, I'm sure.

Exactly. And it’s hard work building deer stands. 3k ain’t to bad if you won’t ever have to replace it.

I’ve had a few box blinds built on site. They are 6-8 years old and still going strong. When they give up the ghost I’m planning to replace them with red neck blinds or something similar. But once cry once

It’s on my list of once every other year purchases as long as the economy stays right for me. Maintaining a piece of property isn’t easy and if all I have to do is spray for wasp a couple times a year for stand maintain everything I’m game.

You’ve obviously never hunted a ladder stand in northern Wisconsin 0degree 10-20mph wind off a corn field. After that, you’ll shell out $3k. Believe you me

I wonder if a peltier device would cool it or at least drop the temperature enough to make it "comfortable" during the early season. I dislike sweating when I'm hunting.

All the old cats that started me out hunting used to find a tree with a fork in it, nail on some rungs up the the fork, and put a wedge board in between them and that was their stand. You got to have some serious sand in your cooch to hunt out of a $3,000 elevated plastic box.

Those that say buy once cry once. I’d imagine those have a limited life as well. They’d either deteriorate over time or get messed up in a storm. I just can’t see some plastic box that stays outside in the elements lasting 20-30 years.

For an extra 1k you can probably get it painted in Sitka pattern for extra concealment.

I started hunting the same way and still use a lock on when needed. But my cooch does itch a lot so i do appreciate a nice box blind with an office chair in it.
