    Default Face mask/ gaiter

Work has made it mandatory to have face covering now that we’ve had several people test positive for covid in last couple of weeks. What brands seem to be the most comfortable? Looking online and most look about the same. I work outside so something that’s cool would be best. Thanks

My wife started wearing one outdoors years ago after skin cancer on her face- the SPF masks designed for fishing have been great, comfortable for her in the summer sun, and have lasted very well- Brand didn't matter but they weren't the cheap ones. We just ordered a couple new ones from Amazon and they were $11-$12 each.

I've got a Huk that I've worn around, but mostly I'm wearing a sitka mask. It's a little pull up with elastic, and it's mesh, perforated.. It's very breathable, I pull it up when emotional looking customers walk in, or if I walk from behind the counter.. which, I don't do as much of that these days. I can't imagine getting away with it if I worked for someone besides myself.

It sucks, we have to wear one at all times except when we are in our office alone, but if I have it and IF it MIGHT prevent me spreading to an “at risk” person so be it. I’ve had to do worse.

I got Aftcos because I like their stuff. They were like $39.99 for a 3-pack, but they then donate 3 in return. Very comfortable, AND I look like a bank robber, so there's that.

I wear a buff when I go out in public (required in stores/public places where I live). It doesn't do a damn thing, like most of the other face masks, but it complies with what they want.

I have the latex Ronald Reagan mask from the late 80s. I's kinda hot to use in these temperatures.

I don't mind applying sun block so I never got into the entire buff thing. The only ones I've ever owned were for duck hunting, wearing them in any other hunting occasion is just being needy.

I guess not for the turkey hunting people, but I'm not trying to get into that.

PROTIP: Make sure you buy cotton. The stretchy ones that are polyester are mo' hot.

Any of the cheap ones all are about the same. Even if you don’t pull it up over your face it will still give good sun protection to your neck. Soak it in cooler water every so often.

Simms sells a sungaiter that has a flared base For better sun coverage and holes for breathing easier.

I've been wearing Buff for years. I think they were the original. When fishing, they keep the sun off but they also are great for keeping your hat on while riding and if it's up over your ears, it knocks out a lot of the wind rumble so you can hear conversation better. Dip them in water and they keep cool.

I wear them hunting anytime I need camo, ducks, doves, deer, turkey, squirrel, you name it. I have white hair and deer are particularly keen to notice white so I wear it over my head and face while deer hunting. Next time you're in a dove field, look around at the hunters and notice how much their face stands out from the background. Even the ones that aren't wearing their old faded khaki pants (that are actually white) while they sit on a blue bucket can be spotted by their bright pink faces. Especially on late season doves, face camo can make a difference.
