    Default Hunting AR Trigger Replacement

Seems like everyone is making an enhanced trigger for an AR now. What is the best bang for the buck with a hunting trigger? Single or 2 stage? Any luck with the drop in PSA triggers? Eyeing the LaRue Tactical MBT-2S but the jury is still out right.

You will not be disappointed with the PSA drop in flat trigger.

I don't know much about the drop-in triggers other than reading that some are prone to carbon crud build-up inside and aren't as easy to flush out as others are. I don't know which ones are or are not prone to it.

I use the standard design (multiple pieces), but like the Hiperfire triggers due to their greater strike energy (according to their chart).

I put the PSA 3.5lb flat trigger in mine and been very pleased. It's almost too light. Every time that I let someone shoot the rifle they say that their first shot was an "accident" because the trigger is so light. I personally like a curved trigger better, but I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

Switched to a flat trigger in my ar300, really like it vs the curved, may get more for the other AR's now, got this one CMC AR-15/10 Flat-Face 3.5 lb Single Stage Drop-In #91503 Trigger. Very clean break, I like it

The light trigger on the flat drop in comes from depressing the trigger at the bottom rather than the middle. Proper finger placement on the center gives you a 3.5lb break, depressing the bottom puts it at 2-2.5lb break.

Got a CMC curved and a PSA flat and both are great.

I have CMC drop-ins on all of my AR's. Most are single stage but on the guns with more recoil I have gone to two stage. I had a Geissele two stage match trigger in my AR10 but I had a problem with bump firing occasionally and sometimes it would fail to reset. It probably wasn't the fault of the trigger. More likely it's my form and getting too relaxed on the rest. The CMC two stage fixed that.

I wouldn't go much lighter than 3 lbs on a semi-auto hunting gun. Buck fever or gloves can make for an accidental discharge.

I have a CMC flat in my hunting rifle. Great trigger but would prefer curved trigger for hunting. Even with the enhanced guard I would prefer more glove room.

I usually slide my finger down to the bottom of the trigger until I feel the little "hook".

CMC drop in is very good for the price.
Trigger Tech is a big step up in performance and price. Best drop in on the market IMO.
Geisselle High Speed National Match if you want any a more traditional AR trigger.

Rock river arms national match 2 stage or varmint 2 stage. The varmint is lighter than national match. Can get either of them for around 90 to 125 depending where you order from. Best trigger I’ve used for that money.

Just ordered a larue MBT. Sounds like I need to try it out.

I have a couple and it’s a clean break. Let me know what you think when you get it.

The MBT-2S is a very good trigger for the price. I have a Geissele in a NM AR and after buying the LaRue I didn’t see the need to spend the $ on a G trigger for my other rifles.

Compared to those 2 triggers I was not impressed with the RRA NM that I have used.

I am not someone who has put their finger on tons of drop in triggers but I have two velocity triggers and can’t say a bad thing about them.
