    Default Marine audio help please

    I have a marine radio with 6 JL 6 1/2 speakers and one 10”sub.
4 of the 6 1/2 speakers are ran off a smaller JL 500w amp.
The sub has a 600w amp.

    Here’s my issue-
I put a battery In the console and wired the amps directly to it.
The amps won’t cut on while radio is playing. If I hook the amps up to the fuse block In the console that runs the radio they both come on.
I was hoping not to chase wires 12’ back to the bulge area and that’s the reason I put another battery in the console. Any ideas for what the issue is?

Why not just hoook Amos to fuse block that runs radio if they work that way? Not understanding issue unless you want extra battery just for amps???

The remote wire is hooked up and cuts on the amps when connected to the same battery.

The Fuse bank uses a smaller wire than what I would imagine two amps would need to draw power from over time. My thought was that having a shorter run with a Heavier gauge wire, the setup would be more beneficial over time and would keep me from draining an important battery down while at the sand bar

Interesting...where they are getting 12v from shouldn’t matter... long as the remote wire is landed in the remote block on the amp and the amp has a 12v source the radio should cut the amp on

Is your radio on a switch? Amps hooked to same switch? I have my radio(Bluetooth dongle) one one switch, and my amp on its own separate switch.

    My thought exactly!
Must be something with the Infinity head unit that’s installed.

Radio is on perko switch to the accessories battery.

Not certain on this but I think you need to establish a common ground between the 2 batteries.

This! The remote turn in doesn’t have a current loop without the common ground.

A loud stereo won't work on a boat. Just give up and get some headphones or earbuds.

Need a common ground between the batteries. Run one from the new battery to wherever the accessories on the fuse panel are grounded.
