I went to a hunt camp and they hade KITCHENAID pots and pans. I was so impressed, I literally ordered them the day I got home. They have a copper sandwich bottom and with my induction top, I can boil two cups of water in two minutes. It is not, non-stick coated but you can stir the crap out of it without fear and the thick bottom reduces burning. Pay once, cry once. That was fifteen years ago. MG

I like my non-stick Calphalon stuff but it's easy to warp it if you cool it too quickly. I use cast iron occasionally but it isn't nearly as easy to clean up.

    You serious Clark?

I have a #11 Wagner for bacon, a # 8 Griswold for pancakes And a #3 that is perfect size to fry 2 eggs.

I just wipe them out with a paper towel and then a little oil to moisten. Ready for next meal.

I will advise against Calphalon non-stick. The finish doesn’t last. I think they’re made to look good for high falootin folk that never use them.

I use cast iron or enameled cast iron almost exclusively. Sometimes I use some stainless. Find some old iron, test it for lead, make sure it doesn’t wobble or spin, refurbish it and pass it on to your kids or whoever you want when you go.

I get by on a #8 Wagner, 14S BSR that was my grandfather’s aunt’s around 1920, #3’s, and an enameled 6 qt Dutch oven for just about anything. I use a carbon steel round skillet for biscuits and I am on the search for more carbon steel to add to the collection now.

    you people...I swear.

I have a smithey pan. yall made fun of me.

Non-stick stuff is disposable. Two years? Screw that. Buy a new $30 pan yearly. The other stuff lasts forever.

I've never found a pot that boils water better than another.

those smithy pans seemed nice until i picked one up. Damn thing weighs more than a cheap Lodge skillet. They must charge by the pound.

Go find yourself a pre-1960 Wagner or Griswold and cook like your grandma learned at half the weight and half the price.

The Field Company skillets are made thinner like the old Griswolds. That's why I much prefer those to the Smithy.

    She was the one complaining.

I found the antique pans and dutch ovens and she is once again happily barefoot in the kitchen.

    Carry on my wayward son.
