Default Garden City - Pawleys Inshore Guide Reccomendation

Going to be suffering in Litchfield with the in-laws in a few weeks. A man can only take so much beach sitting.... I want to do a little inshore fishing & I don't want to haul up a boat or deal with a boat for that matter. Flounder & Reds or even a sheepshead. Not looking for the elusive skates, rays, or bonnet heads.

I need a good reputable guide (that catches fish), keeps a clean organized boat, decent tackle, and don't mind me drinking 20-11 coorslights while my children slay. I will even run the filet knife and throw the net if need be...

Trying to limit myself to the south by Pawleys and to the north with Garden City. Certainly don't want to drive to the dirty myrtle or charleston to make this happen.

What does the brain trust of a duck hunting site have?

    Thanks,

    fro

Do you require a tier 1 boat, or is tier 2 ok?

Stump at Pawleys Island Guide Service, Jordan Pate at Carolina Guide Service, Robert Mcarly at Reel Tight Fishing Charters, Douglas Miller at Big Marsh Guides...all of those fellas can put you on fish in Winyah and if they can’t no one can.

All depends, Winyah bay sounds like a tier 2 type of place? may be a little overkill for the inshore slam though? I mean i was leaning twds pulling the 13 whaler up. Should I go bigger?

fro is turning 45 next week and getting lazy. For once I would like to take a vacation, have everything done for me, and act like a rich googan. Might break out the sandals and socks or white new balance...

Nope. They are all equally good in my opinion. Stump and Jordan will likely be booked up for Tarpon trips and like mentioned above if Miller or Robert can’t get you they will refer you to someone they trust to put you on the fish

if you are looking to stay really close and do something a little different you could go through black river outdoors (i think) and go kayak fishing. I do it every year and always have a good time

I went on Fish Finder out of Crazy Sister Marina in Murrells Inlet in June.

    He put us on fish.

We caught several Spanish, one good keeper.

Went out a few miles and he brought the Spade fish up. We caught 20 or so but only 2 keepers. Had the law not changed June 1 we would have loaded the boat.

The kids caught all the sea bass they wanted. They even enjoyed catching jelly balls.

We had 2 adults and 3 teenagers and was very happy with the experience.
