Damnit boy!!! I’ve only gotten free t-shirts out of my reported tags. I wonder if a money tag is a different color or has different print on it? Do you know you have a money tag by looking at it or do you find out once you report it. If I reel one in with a green tag and dollar signs stamped all over it I’m gonna start grinning like a possum eating persimmons!

The reward tag is orange like the others but has the reward amount listed.

After you send them the info, they send you a W-9. Fill that out and you get your reward.

The reward is through CCA and not DNR/government.

This is the CCA Star Tournament and it exists in SC. You have to be registered through their website to qualify. Check it out and enter if you feel lucky.

This. I register every year. It's a Sea Hunt BX 22BR bay boat here.

The STAR tournament has been going since I was a kid. I’ve only known of 1 person to catch a STAR tagged redfish and they weren’t entered into the tournament! It lasts pretty much all summer long, buy your $20 STAR license if you hit the Texas coast! You never know....

Didn't someone catch the fish for the boat here in SC and wasn't registered? Seems like its been in the last 2-3yrs but I could be wrong.

There is a polygraph that has to be passed as well, if I'm remembering correctly.
