I've fished Glastron ski boat, stepped up to a Galaxy, went to a Bayliner cuddy inboard, then went big to a 23ft Seafox, sold it cause brother stepped up and bought a 23ft Sea Hunt. Prices were from 2500- 13,500. Yes, I've fished 3rd and 4th tier boats all my life, got wet and beat all the years but fished up to 65 miles offshore in them all, except the ski boat, about 35 in it.

Whatever tier boat I can afford, I'm going.

Pair of Detroit 6-71T best I can recall, was a long time ago.
I do recall getting a price to rebuild them in frame and that's is when I knew I was in too deep for this class boat ownership.
Kept it in Oregon Inlet Fishing Center for two years (late 80's) and had a local captain chartering it. I was living just a few miles away in Nags head
and owned a successful bar/nightclub and was partners in several others in the Nags Head and Va Beach area.
29 years old when I bought it. It was a good time.................. for awhile

I just don’t see how buying a new boat is ever a good idea...buy a bigger used boat for the same money With motors under warranty

You said a mouthful there. MFer's that own and spend 80% of their time in 16' jonboats talking about the in and outs of offshore fishing boats always crack me up.......

There's a reason I don't comment on these threads, it's that the only damn thing I know about offshore fishing is that I like to go. You know the ole saying, "It's better to remain silent and thought to be a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."? That applies here.....

Ok, I'm moving Grady White to a sub-section of tier ones.

Tier one price but not with the money...

Yes, be sure to stay away from anything like this. It's a tank, it will beat you to death and soak you as well as being slow.
Oh wait, never mind, I was thinking about my buddie's 1982 24ft Grady I fished on 20 years ago in 3ft slop. My bad

Guess i put my $0.02 in.
Not sure how a sea hunt made someones Tier 1.
I may be partial because i own one but <30ft your not going to beat the ride of a southport 28, or the 30/33. Tons of room, great on the drift
Cape Horn 31 is a great riding boat, just doesn't have any storage and wasn't a fan of the gunnel height.
Tier 1 and speed, Seavee, seahunter, Invincible or Fountain.

I have no clue as to the validity of your statements, you just came across as angry with your response.

Where's fish? We need his infinite knowledge in here to keep the IKEs in line.

I was being a dickhead in response to him being a dickhead, no anger here. Fish doesn't have time for this nonsense.
