    Default Fawns

I’ve tired of the constant political and racial back and forth on here. Back to what we’re here for.

How many fawns are y’all seeing across the state? I travel corner to corner to corner of the state and see a ton of deer, but my home range is upstate, particularly southern Greenville county, eastern Anderson county, and northern Laurens county. I’ve seen more fawns this year than ever. Lots of twins and some triplets as well. Just wondering what everyone else is seeing. I hope the same. I’m ready for fall.

Lots. Lots of twins and triplets.

Lots of bucks too, and a lot of velvet growth for this time of year.

Most everyone I know running cameras year round are seeing fawns singles and doubles. Poults not so much.

I don't understand whining about political post. Social media is selective reading.

Not whining at all, just need a break from it all. Hunting and fishing are my breaks. That’s why I’m here.

Jake caught this one at the farms a few weeks ago, heard it screaming and was able to get them apart before he killed it

Thank you! I agree! Take that other bullshit elsewhere. This is an outdoors related forum.

As far as the fawns go. We are seeing a good many on the farm. Mostly twins with all the does. I am looking forward to deer season. Quality time in a stand with my kids and enjoying nature.

Freezer is empty. Going to stack them like cord wood this season.

Sat in a deer stand over a feeder hoping to see a pig that has been a frequent visitor the other evening. Saw 7 does, one little buck and one fawn. 7 does with 1 fawn is not a good ratio for recruitment. Have a few fawns on camera but not as many as you’d hope. We have piles of deer generally and plenty of coyotes too unfortunately

I’ve seen a ton of fawns this year. And seems to be more twins than normal. Seems to be that way across all of Fairfield county. Haven’t seen hardly any poults this year, on the 800 acres I hunt I have seen one hen with 3 poults. A lot of lone hens.

Same as duck cutter. Took my 3 kids and me to wrestle a fawn from my GSP. It ran off like it was probably going to make it.

We have a set of twins and a single fawn on camera. Also have one pic of three hens with nine poults. Adjoining property owners got a quality pic of a coyote with a fawn in its mouth. I agree with what a couple of others have said, antler growth is looking good, have a couple of studs. Unfortunately I’m sure they will move off our property come September when they move out of their summer range. Happens every year but it’s also exciting to see what moves onto our property. This is in Laurens County.

Plenty of them in downtown Mauldin. I have half dozen or more that come through my backyard every evening at dusk making the rounds with their moms. Had one get hung up on the fence and die while we were at the beach. Whew that was a smell to come home to!
