    Default Key west 177 skiff

Seen this boat down at MI and PI a lot. Dude is selling it. What is y’all’s take on it? I feel like the hull design is similar to that of a Carolina skiff Dlv, which doesn’t exactly ride like a caddie. I like the open floor and the poling platform that some come with. Any of y’all run one? I don’t see this on the key west website and haven’t seen any advertised for sale new. Did they stop making them? If so is there any particular reason? Just want to know more about it. B5A0571B-7D16-478B-BA7F-30B9B90B773A.jpg
A fish bites 2 times a day, right before I get to the water, and as soon as my boat gets back on the trailer.

Looks like it'd beat your brains out in even the calmest of water....

They don’t make them anymore. Like a Carolina skiff, nothing fancy, will catch fish.

I like the nothing fancy part, less upkeep. Seems like it drafts shallow.

    Default Key west 177 skiff

They weren’t a huge seller for Key West as they were around the same price point as the 1720 which provided a much better ride.. They only made them for a few years. Solid hulls, built much better than a Carolina skiff as they are heavier and have the “foam”, but will give a comparable ride..
