    Default Lobsters ???

My sister saw there is some seafood company that will have live maine lobsters for sale Thursday and Friday. She has offered to get my wife and I some

Eaten plenty of lobster but never cooked one

I assume just get a pot of water boiling w Old Bay and drop suckers in there ??? Done plenty of blue crabs over the years but never a Lobster

Is that all there is to it , I know you can over cook them but other than that I have no clue

I would do lobster in just salt water. If I remember, you boil them 12 minutes. I'm sure you can find it online.

    Isn’t SCDucks online?

Look up how they cook them up there. Salt water. Ice bath. If you’re real legit, sea water.

I like to butter poach lobster by taking the head off and removing the claws. Get a mallet and crack the claws. Slice the carapace of the tail with kitchen shears top and bottom. Two sticks unsalted butter and a bunch of sliced shallots in a roasting pan. When shallots and butter start to get going add lobster parts and a little white wine, shuffling the lobster parts. If you have a covered roasting pan, put on the lid and shake it every few minutes until done. (I don't put the heads in but reserve them for making seafood stock.)

Split them in half. Put some melted butter on the open side. Grill them shell side down. Turn over and back on the grill buttered side down for 3 minutes to finish.

Lobster is like a ribeye, you have to try to mess it up.

Lobster is overrated. It is better than bacon on a sandwich but I'll take blue crab over lobster any day.
