    Default Bass Boat Purchase

Just sold my old flats boat and now in the market for a bass boat. I had an old TX175 Tracker that I redid with my dad in highschool and college and then upgraded to a 20' flats boat.

I am just starting to look and know this is not an ideal time to purchase any boat. I got more out of my flats boat than I expected and I assume that's due to high season.

My budget is in the $20k range which means I'll be looking at older boats. I would like an older boat that has been repowered if possible. I'd like to be in the 18'-21' range. I'm not looking for a speed boat and would favor good ride over anything.

I have also started looking at aluminum as an option. Has anyone fished off a newer larger aluminum bass boat?

Any brands that I should look at?

Ive fished off a 198 and 188 ranger. I like them a lot.

My favorite was the Ranger 361V. My fishing partner had one and i wish we would have just repowered it with a new 175 yamaha instead of selling for a newer boat.

The best bass boat was probably the flats boat you sold.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Word of advice from a triton owner, you better Drive a triton before you buy it. Mine is for sale!

Thanks for the input. I've read they can get a little sketchy as high speeds. Is that what you are referring to?

The chine walk will scare you to death. Mine usually comes on at about 60-63mph. You can "learn" to drive thru it. My boat is a 72-75mph boat and I've learned to drive it but it wasn't fun........at all! During the process, I played with props and set-up for weeks. I learned to love it and it has been a great boat but the process was not what I expected at all when I bought it.
