“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

They's damn fine table fare. We used to go to the Okefenokee Swamp and fish for them when I was a kid. The bite well on live crawfish.

mawmout. dey gets mo bigga but dats a purdy good’un.

Exactly the question I asked my dad when i caught my first one. In a backwater swamp that i drove my 4wheeler to, fishing beetle spins and roostertails. over time, also caught mudfish and fliers that i had to ask the id of as well.
(NOTE :there are alot of wood ducks to be killed in those type of habitats)

    Where did you catch it?

I catch them fairly often on Greenwood when fishing bream and shellcracker beds, seen them on Clark’s Hill as well.

Did you see an alligator in lake Murray? That is a warmouth. Not scientific but a cross between a bass and a shellcracker. AKA stumpknocker as it hits after bait hits stump.
