    Default SEC taking a stand.

The NCAA's Southeastern Conference on Thursday told the state of Mississippi it could miss out on SEC championship games if it doesn't change its state flag, which includes a Confederate symbol.

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement, "It is past time for change to be made to the flag of the State of Mississippi."

"Our students deserve an opportunity to learn and compete in environments that are inclusive and welcoming to all," he said. "In the event there is no change, there will be consideration of precluding Southeastern Conference championship events from being conducted in the State of Mississippi."

Wish they could find a way to bring cowbells into this movement.

I am not sure the SEC can get away with the same things as the NFL.

They forgot that there was a referendum on the ballot in Mississippi leaving it to the residents to vote on changing the flag. The vote was a no. I don't recall the year that happened though.

Has there even been any SEC championship events in Mississippi? I don't recall that state being a host of anything of substance.

They going to make the state bend to their will? I've seen crazier things, but I see a lawsuit or 2 miss schools moving to another conference. And what about Arkansas, that diamond is just a redesign. Florida? That red X is part of it too. How about South Carolina? Our flag was red until we left the union. Color was changed to blue for the CSA. Never changed it back. If they really looked at the history, they will find a lot of state flags still represent the Confederacy. Oh wait, they don't care about education, college is all about indoctrination.

Our flag was not red before we left the Union. "Big Red" is a Citadel flag. It was flown on Morris island when Cadets fired on the Star of the West, a union re-supply ship enroute to Fort Sumter. The SC flag was the Moultrie Flag, known as the liberty flag until the palmetto was added in 1861. It has always been blue.
