Default Please recommend a rod and reel combo for salt trolling

Getting started and clueless about salt rigs. Recommendations as well as places to purchase would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly anything that’ll bite except sharks. I plan to start near shore ~out to 20 - 30 miles and as comfort level and experience grows gradually move out to the stream.

Hopefully get on some king mackerel, Spanish etc. As we move out, targeting dolphin, tuna and wahoo.

Depends on what your going after. Shimano Tld's are about the best out there for the money. Old faithful penn senators are ok as well. A tld 25 or 30 should be plenty for trolling for kings, dolphin, etc..

TLD 20, 25, or 30 on a stand up rod for that weight class.

And light spinning gear for casting at Spanish when they're busting bait on top. Get some of these:

Penn Squall VSWs or Shimano TLDs for the money. They'll last 20 years if taken care of.
