Default Shroom ID? And insect ID

Thought I’d tap into the SCDuck brain trust on a couple IDs. The shrooms grow in the yard and the big bit or stung my son in the neck and left a nice welt. Sorry for the bad pic but he was quickly stomped. Yellow Fly, Deer Fly I hate them jokers. I get a welt the size of a 50 cent piece from them.

I don't know what kind of mushroom that is, beyond it definitely being the kind you don't want to eat..

I am not an expert at either but it looks like a "Destroying Angel" mushroom (very poisonous) and a sweat bee.

I really don't think it is a destroying angel because the stem is smooth but it might be related. Sweat bees do sting but it usually only hurts for a few minutes and doesn't leave much of a mark.

That mushroom is not one that I know isn’t bad news, therefore it is bad news! At least that is how I go about IDing shrooms.

Agree but can't name it. The book below is a good resource.
