Those Mary Creek fish are spooks!!!

Well, Mary Creek is definitely home to the most pressured and spookiest bonefish in the Carib!
Low tide is where it's at though as the water is just too deep on the high with the stiff eastern Tradewinds pushing it into the bay.
I saw several the first morning and they were all huge fish, but you couldn't put a fly within 20 feet of em without them knowing it. Placing a fly far enough in front that they didn't spook just didn't work out that morning.
They would change direction etc so, I went back the next morning with Jane and her cousin but there were three friggin yakkers up on the flat paddling around in 6" of water, getting out.....we watched em from a distance for an hour before we said F this and went snorkeling.
Those fish would all approach the flat from the west but the yum yums never let them on the flat.....
Yesterday was another day however, I had a charter booked for Jane and I. We went four out of seven on tarpon and caught some yellowtails for dinner.
She caught her first and second tarpon which was what she wanted to do while here.
I caught one on the fly the rest were all caught on jighead/paddletail that I brought and left with our captain.
It was a great day on the water and if you're down here, targeting this local tarpon is a great way to spend a day OTW.
Where the bait stacks up and you see the pelicans diving again the rocks.... That's where the tarpon will be!

Sounds like a good trip !!!
Perfect size tarpon, all in the 40-60# range.....watching your kid grind through a thirty minute battle from start to finish is awesome!
She was done after number two...
And the yellowtails were excellent as well as the bottle after bottle of Carib ...

You have set the bar high for any future suitors that come calling for Jane... I hope she can find someone deserving.
Looks like a fine trip and congrats to you both .. I cherish all the memories I have with my girls doing what I love and they have come to appreciate.
Scott, You are a real good Dad!!!

How old is Miss Jane? Too early to negotiate a future arrangement?

Nice!
That’s great! Excellent work dad.
Awesome Scott. Jane is my youngest daughter's age, and they almost look like twins.. when I saw her last I had to do a double take. I keep my girl up on Jane's hunting and fishing.. but Shea is particular on what she kills or catches
