    Default Half Track

Steelin’ had asked in another thread so here it is. These are a couple of photos of 2 of the 3 half tracks my BIL has bought in an effort to make one complete. Both of these came from the same guy in Lubbock, TX. Yes, he has towed a trailer out there for 2 round trips, plus one to Iowa. The green one runs. They had been using these out west to stand oil derricks years ago.

It just so happens that my grandfather was a gunner on a half track in WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. These are pics of him and 2 different half tracks he was on....

Very cool. Funny, I’m watching Band of Brothers right now, and a ******* just annihilated a half track.

There is a tank museum in Danville, VA (https://www.aaftankmuseum.com/). When I was there last summer they had one or two partial half-tracks for sale. If your BIL needs more parts the AAF museum may be a source.

The museum is quite large and the collection is amazing. We went for the flamethrower demo and stayed for the rest of the day.

That's cool. You don't hear of many people with a half track as a hobby. At least I don't.

Id love to go for a stroll in one of those. For some crazy reason, I've always wanted a deuce and a 1/2.
