Car was shipped from dealership to local garage. BMW put in neutral safety mode. Garage cannot get it out of this mode, any ideas? This is for a friend, about as much info I have. Anybody?

On some you can pop the bezel off the gear shifter and take the key on the FOB and turn it back from neutral or remove the shield over the transmission, there is hex screw I think, screw it all the way in then back out until it clicks.
Call the dealership and ask how they shifted to neutral to tow.

What model you have and I believe I’m qualified enough to help you get it out of neutral mode....
I spent a lot of money to have a company on EBay make this for me

You will prob have to call me.. but I'll try
In the bottom of the cup holder there is like a rubber liner. Pull it out, you will see a square cut out. In the rear where your spare would be is a red T handle tool. That tool will fit the square cut out. Take that cover loose then that tool goes down in the opening into a slot. Put in in the slot, push down and turn it 90 degrees.
If you don't have the tool, then they went underneath the vehicle and where the shift cable is there is a set screw that has to be ran all the way up to put it in neutral. Back that screw all the way off.

Like a wizard.
I was told the North American model did not have this "feature" but I looked anyway. Putting the cup holder back is more difficult than lifting the car and turning the screw. Mechanics are under paid.
