    Little Rubberhead 11 hours after getting his first .30-06...I gave him the gun the night before. Dad had already sighted the gun so we left him up a dark tree the next morning. I think it was about 7:30a when I heard him shoot...my phone rang.."Dad, I just shot an 8-point buck"...boring...

    I think they mean pedestrian, a relic of a cartridge, reserved for uncultured rednecks and caliber poets. That’s okay, I like walking.

    You're right, of course. I am not very likely to start a conversation with something like, "hey, I shoot a .30-06"...

    Does anyone know a 6.5mm Creedmoor shooter and not know they're a 6.5mm Creedmoor shooter?

    If all the 6.5 guys had read J.Y. Jones great book " One Man, one land, one rifle" ... there wouldn't be a 6.5 Creedmor.

    30-06 is a great , iconic, battle proven American cartridge than can truly do it all. Buy different bullet weights and construction if need be to meet the specific need. Go whack critters.
